Introduction

NongNooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya is considered to be one of the top ten beautiful gardens in the world. The garden is spread over more than 500 acres and is a popular tourist attraction in Pattaya. This place has thousands of plants of various species. Moreover, it is one of the best places in Pattaya for a family trip.

NongNooch Tropical Garden has many activities and one can have a great refreshing experience in this garden. This garden has been selected as the official Conservation Center and Repository for the International Heliconia Society. It is certainly a photo and video feast for the visitors in this beautiful garden.

The couple Mrs. Nongnooch and Mr. Pisit Tansacha purchased the land to use as fruit location. The garden was opened for public in 1980 as tropical garden. Their son Mr. Kampon Tansacha took over the management in 1983.

How to get to NongNooch Tropical Garden

Taxi is the easiest way to get and costs about 400 baht. The garden is about 15 to 20 km from the Pattaya city. So, to save time, this is the best way to get there.

Nongnooch Tropical Garden runs 2 buses daily and they pick up from the hotel.  However, you have to book beforehand and avail the facility.

  • Take the sightseeing bus and visit the beautiful landscaped themed botanical garden. Buying the ticket for the bus tour is advisable to see this massive garden quickly.
  • Visit the Thai cultural show to look at the culture of Thailand. The performers perform various historical events. Traditional dances and martial arts demonstrations are given.
  • Visit the two car museums to see more than 100 different cars of Mr. Kampon Tansacha, the owner of Nongnooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya. There are LED displays, and they present the property of each car. Relax with a coffee in the Coffee shop of the showroom or visit cat café to see the Persian cats.
  • Walk about a kilometer elevated walkway and view the gardens.
  • Visit Elephant show where elephants perform various activities like painting, playing football, dancing and more. One can give food and take pictures with the elephant.
  • Have a ride on the Elephant and take videos of your ride.
  • Walk through palm trees and cycads and feel the Caribbean here.
  • Visit mini zoo that has non-wild animals walking freely around and relaxing. There are also various bird species here.

The Cactus Garden is located at the entrance and is a glasshouse area that has various species of cactus. They are of different sizes and shapes, and it is an amazing experience to see so many varieties of cacti at NongNooch Tropical Garden.

The dinosaur valley has realistic sculptures of 800 plus dinosaurs of 230 plus different species of dinosaurs. There is a prehistoric garden, and it will take one into prehistoric era. Sounds are added to these life-size structures for realistic feel. You will enjoy but would not be scared by these massive dinosaurs.

The Orchid Garden has wide varieties of Orchids from all over the world and is quite popular with the tourists.

The Garden in the sky has cycads, ferns, cacti, crotons, bonsai and more at an elevated level. Also, some plants hang from roof.

The European Garden has the design of European landscape and has been trimmed to have various shapes. 

The French Gardens, inspired by the garden of Versailles, France was started in 1998. It is also quite popular with the tourists.

The Palms of the World has different species of palms here and looks wonderful. Besides seeing the palm trees, one will get a great feeling of the tropical region.

The Naga Garden is about 14 m (46ft) high.  The 9 types of Naga made of stucco are surrounded by plants here. 

The Herbaceous Garden has colorful flowers. The flowers and flamingo sculptures are present here.

The Stone Forest has different sized rocks and stones. Also, the rocks and plants co-exist here. 

The Bonsai Garden has small plants. Moreover, growing the plants and their maintenance is tough.

The Waterfall Garden has waterfall with plants around and it creates a peaceful atmosphere to spend some time.

The Agave Garden has Agave plants, and they use less water. 

The Heart Garden has plants grown in heart shape and they take the help of stones for this growth
