Introduction
Koh Larn (Coral Island) is a beautiful island in the Gulf of Thailand. It is 7 Km away from Pattaya. The length and breadth of the island are about 4 KM and 2 Km. It is a mountainous terrain. There are quite a few good beaches. The beaches have white sand and clear waters. There are a lot of activities to do there. Transportation, restaurants, accommodations, showers, restrooms are available there. Many tourists visit this place every year.
Ferries and speed boats are available from Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. One can reach the Koh Larn Island within an hour from Pattaya. The fun starts from the journey itself. You can relax and enjoy at the beach till the evening and go back to Pattaya or have a stay for the night in one of the accommodations there.
Best time to Visit Koh Larn Island
It is better to go in the morning and come back in the evening, if there are no plans to stay there. If there is enough vacation time, stay there for a day.

How to get to Koh Larn Island
There are boats and ferries from Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya.
It takes 35 minutes to Naban Port and 45 minutes to Tawaen Beach. Speed boats take 15 to 20 minutes.
The cost of ferry is 30 baht each way. The speed boats cost about 200 baht.

Transportation on Koh Larn Island
There are motorcycle taxis, songthaews and scooter rental. Motorcycle taxis charge about 100 baht. Songthaews charge about 50 baht, but one has to wait until it is full with passengers. Scooter rentals charge about 300 baht a day.
Dress Code
There is no dress code, but bringing separate dress would help if clothes get wet in water sport activities.

Things to do at Koh Larn Island
Parasailing at Tawaen Beach and Samae Beach which may cost about 600 baht. In case of parasailing, you are attached to a speed boat.
Paragliding at Tawaen Beach is popular.
Underwater Sea Walking to see animals under water and cost about 500 to 1000 baht
Banana Boat Ride which may cost about 300 baht. Banana boats are basically rubber boats filled with air and pulled by jet ski.

Location
Koh Larn is located to the south east of the Bay of Bangkok. To the west of Koh Larn is the Gulf of Siam. It is Chonburi province. There is Buddha statue at 180 meters above sea level. Ban Krok Makhan and Ban Ko Lan are the two villages here. Most of the beaches are to the west of the Island. The other Islands near Koh Larn are Ko Sak and Ko Krok.
Beaches at Koh Larn
Tawaen Beach is a very popular beach of Koh Larn Island. This is almost 700 meters long. A lot of international tourists also visit this beach. There are various activities here. Many resorts are available to stay here. Restaurants and cafes are there that cater to different cuisines. There is also a 7-11 shop and Café Amazon.
The 500 meters long Samae Beach is another popular beach with resorts to stay. This is on the west side of the Island. Beach chairs are about 50 plus baht per day. There are many restaurants and shops. Food can be ordered from beach chair. There are lot of activities here. View spectacular sunsets here and take photos and videos of the same.
The Tien Beach is neither small nor big. It is about 400 meters long. There are a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops here. It is a 5-minute walk from drop-off point of taxi as there are no roads. There is less crowd on this beach. There are some accommodations available here.
The Nual Beach is located to the south of Koh Larn. There are restaurants and showers here. Good for swimming. There are some monkeys here. No accommodations are available here.
Other Beaches like Sangwan, Tayaiy, Tong Lang etc. are there. The Sangwan and Tayaiy beaches are about 140 meters long. The Tong Lang beach is about 200 meters long.

Chairs are for hire for about 50 baht per day
Accommodations range from 1000 to 3000 baht.
